There was a large fire last night, directly across the street, at my neighbors’ house. Fortunately, thanks to smoke alarms, they and their two little boys got out safely. No firemen were injured putting out the blaze. Everything else can be replaced – I am so glad everyone was OK.

On etait arrive au brunch a 10h30 tel que prevu. Une quinzaine de minutes plus tard, avant que j’aie eu le temps de photographier la salle paroissiale et le beau buffet qui nous attendait, l’alarme a feu a sonne. Le bruit etait assourdissant, alors on est sorti dehors pour attendre.
